What You Don’t Know About Sudanese (Pharaonic) Female Circumcision

A Warm Gathering… and a Heartfelt Talk

Sometimes we sit with our family or loved ones and talk about things in our society that need to change. These conversations are usually filled with love and warmth, and their main goal is the well-being of everyone. Today, I’m speaking with you in the same spirit. I hope you listen with an open heart, and that you help spread this message with love and compassion, because many need to hear it.

Cases From All Over the World… But One Common Issue

Lately, we’ve seen cases from all over the world — Europe, America, and the Arab world — either online through Zoom or in person at our clinic in Cairo, Egypt. Most of these women didn’t suffer from this particular problem. But when we started seeing women from Sudan, we noticed one recurring issue that causes severe pain and distress in their marital lives.

One Woman’s Story… A Marriage Full of Pain

One of the cases involved a woman who had been married for about a year and a half. Her husband travels often, and every time he returns, the same painful issue is still there. Their marital relationship was full of tension and disturbance. She visited several doctors, and they all told her she was “just being dramatic.” No one looked deeper or tried to understand the real cause.

The Problem Isn’t Her… It’s in Our Culture

The painful truth is: the issue isn’t with the woman. The real cause lies in our societal, cultural, and sometimes even religious traditions. We — as a society — created this problem, and now many women are paying the price. And sadly, instead of supporting them, we blame them.

A Simple Solution… and So Much Hope

The good news is that the solution took less than 15 minutes! In just two days, the woman was completely healed. The couple told us, “We never knew married life could be like this.” It was a simple medical intervention with almost no pain, just a bit of local anesthesia — and everything went smoothly.

Sudanese Women… Elegance and Strength

Sudanese women are known not only for their beauty, elegance, and grace — but also for their incredible strength and tolerance for pain. The woman in this case showed amazing courage and didn’t even flinch during the procedure. Truly, she was a heroine. And the solution was simple, quick, and safe.

A Medical Name… And an Ancient Cause

This condition is recognized medically in the West. Here, it’s often linked to what is called “Sudanese” or “Pharaonic” circumcision, which is more common in Sudan and in areas influenced by ancient Pharaonic culture — including parts of Upper Egypt and Nubia. The name doesn’t matter as much as the pain and damage it causes.

Not an Attack… Just Awareness

We are not here to attack traditions, cultures, or communities. We are here to raise awareness. Many women are silently suffering, believing that pain during intimacy is normal. But it’s not. That pain has a cause — and more importantly, it has a simple and effective cure.

A Message to Every Woman in Pain

If you’re a woman who experiences pain during marital intimacy, please don’t stay silent. There is hope. There is healing. The relationship that God described as one of love and mercy should not hurt this way. Don’t accept pain as your destiny. Relief is possible — and it’s closer than you think.

Spread the Message… Help Other Women

I hope everyone reading this will share it with others. Many women need to know that there is a solution, and that this pain doesn’t have to continue. This is a real medical condition, and treatment is safe, fast, and life-changing.

Our Prayers for You

We send you all our prayers for health, happiness, and peace. May we always be a light for one another — spreading knowledge, healing, and love.
